Reardon v State of Queensland

Wed Mar 5 2008

On December 7, 2007 the Queensland Court of Appeal upheld the trial judge's decision that a local Council body was not negligent by not erecting a sign which prohibited diving in a rock pool and warned of the dangers of submerged rocks.  The Court of Appeal also found that the failure of the rangers to stop the plaintiff and his friends diving in the rock pool was not negligent.  The plaintiff in this matter sued the State of Queensland after becoming a quadriplegic after diving in the rock pool.
