Ballesteros v Chidlow & Anor

On 18 February 2003, the Plaintiff Ms Ballesteros was injured when she was the back seat passenger in a vehicle which collided with another vehicle.
Ms Ballesteros sustained the following injuries in the accident:
- Graze to the left shoulder;
- Bruising to the left ankle;
- Bruising to the lower leg;
- Bruising to the left hip;
- Bruising to the chest and stomach;
- Injury to the neck;
- Injury to the back;
Ms Ballesteros was recently awarded the following damages in compensation for her injuries by the Supreme Court:-

Note: Ms Ballesteros' compensation for future economic loss, including superannuation was increased on appeal by the Court of Appeal to $40,000.00 as the Court found the award of $20,000.00 was manifestly inadequate in the circumstances.
